Frontier Dominion: why your roads matter more than your walls
I lost my first three settlements in Frontier Dominion before I realized the problem wasn't my defenses — it was my layout. Resources sat in storage while my builders walked halfway across the map to fetch them.
The game models travel time for every worker, so a badly placed warehouse can quietly cripple your economy. Once I started clustering production near storage and cutting straight supply roads, my output nearly doubled with no new buildings.
Walls are tempting to overbuild, but raiders in the early game are manageable with a couple of towers. Pour those resources into efficiency instead. You can always fortify later when you have surplus.
My routine now: each new season, I pause the clock and trace where my workers actually walk. Fix the worst bottleneck, unpause, repeat. It's not glamorous, but it's how you win here.
Frontier Dominion is a game about systems, and the sooner you think like a logistics manager, the sooner it clicks.
